# Rate limits

> How many requests you can make, and how to tell when to slow down.

| Limit | Value |
| - | - |
| Requests per key | 60 a minute |
| Requests per account, across all keys | 120 a minute |
| Links downloading at once (`source_url`) | 3 per account |
| Test dubs | 20 a day per account |
| Dubs unfinished at once | Set by your plan. See [Dubs](https://docs.reedapt.com/guides/dubs.md#dubs-running-at-once). |

Every answer carries the state of the per-key limit:

| Header | Meaning |
| - | - |
| `RateLimit-Limit` | Requests allowed in the current minute. |
| `RateLimit-Remaining` | Requests left in the current minute. |
| `RateLimit-Reset` | Seconds until the minute starts over. |

Past a limit you get `429` with a `Retry-After` header in seconds. Wait that long before sending again.

> [!TIP]
>
> Most integrations stay far below these limits by using [webhooks](https://docs.reedapt.com/guides/webhooks.md) instead of polling. Uploads don't count: parts go straight to storage, not through the API.

If you need higher limits, [contact us](mailto:support@reedapt.com).
